Creating a New Presentation from a
Microsoft Word File
When you
insert a Word document, PowerPoint creates an outline structure based
on heading styles in the document.
-
A Heading 1 in your source document
becomes a slide title in PowerPoint,
-
a Heading 2 becomes the first level of
body text on the slide,
-
a Heading 3 the second level of text on
the slide, and so on.
If the original document contains no
heading styles, PowerPoint creates an outline based on paragraphs. For
example, for several lines of text styled as Normal and broken by
paragraphs, PowerPoint turns each paragraph into a slide title.
