Text boxes added to a slide cannot be
edited using the Outline tab. You can type the text directly
on the slide in normal view. Text boxes are usually added to draw a
label, or emphasize a word using borders, fill or 3-d effect.

Click on the Text Box button on
the Drawing toolbar.

Draw a text box of the approximate
size you want, and type in your text.
The text in
the text box can be formatted by using the usual Microsoft Office
commands. Highlight the text, and use Alignment and Font
commands from the Format menu.

You can resize the text box using the
sizing handle. |

The text box can be rotated by
dragging the green rotation handle. |
