Inserting an Image into your webpage

An image can be placed anywhere on your web page.  But before you can insert the image, you need to IMPORT it to your webspace.  In other words, you need to copy the image to the computer where your webspace exists, before you can place it into your pages. Let us insert a picture into the table we created.

For the sake of this example, we will save an image from the web to our computer and then import the image to our webspace.

Go to the example page by clicking here

Control-click on any image on the page and choose the "Download image to disk" option. Save the image to a spot on your computer's hard drive (and remember where you saved it)

Step one:

As the picture below indicates, a window with your images and the GoLive site window need to be both visible on the screen. Select the desired images and drag them into the images folder within the CORE101 folder.

If the new image was not placed in your images folder, in the Folder List window you should drag the image into the images folder within your course folder.

Step two:

Now that the image is in your webspace, you can insert it into your web page. We need to have the webpage and the site window visible concurrently as pictured below.

Step three:

Drag the image into the desired location on the webpage.

Step four:

If you need to resize the image, click on it and you should see small blue squares in the lower right corner of the image. With your mouse, shift-click on the lower right square and drag to resize.

Step five:

Step six:

Save the file and view it in a browser.
